Low Head Tourist Park Review

Located in the Tamar Valley Region close to the mouth of the Tamar River, this accommodation is just a quick 3-minutes drive from Lagoon Bay and East Beach. It’s also close to the famous Low Head Penguins.

The park has powered and unpowered sites for campers and caravaners. Some feature stunning water views, while two have private ensuites. They also have comfortable family cottages good for four to five people with private facilities and a dining and lounge area, and studio cabins for singles and couples.

Heating and air conditioning is also provided. So are bed linen and electric blankets. Some of the rooms either have a kitchenette or a fully equipped kitchen.

You can also find BBQ areas on the grounds, washing machines and dryers, a small play area for kids and ample space to ride bikes.

The pool

The Big4 Kelso Sands Holiday Park is a spacious, family-friendly option at the top of the Tamar in the small town of Kelso.

With a variety of two and three bedroom cabins and cottages, you can also choose to camp on powered or unpowered sites. The accommodation is self contained and come with their own private BBQ decks. It’s older style but clean and comfortable.

The park itself has many facilities with an outdoor, solar-heated pool in summer, a playground and many sporting facilities like a soccer ground and basketball hoops. It also has private beach frontage onto the Tamar although its not somewhere I could imagine swimming.

There are also amenity and camp kitchen blocks and a coin operated laundry. At dusk, keep a look out for wildlife, especially potoroos.
