Where To Stay In Bruny Island
Bruny Island is bigger than you may imagine with two parts, South and North Bruny Island, which are separated by an isthmus of land. Getting from one part of the island to another can take awhile with only the main roads sealed. At night, there can be a lot of wildlife around and lighting is poor so driving is not recommended.
For these reasons, it’s important to stay where you want to be, especially if you are someone who wants to eat out. There are not many people on Bruny Island and a lack of eating options and shops. If you pick somewhere outside of Adventure Bay or Alonnah, be prepared to self cater. In fact, Alonnah is the only place on the island where you can consistently eat out for dinner.
There is also a lack of big Bruny Island hotel options. Accommodation in Bruny Island is low key and there are no Bruny Island resort options.
You can see the location of our recommended accommodation on the map at the bottom of this article.
